New Conservative PAC Threatens Republicans Who Back Bipartisan Amnesty Bill

A newly formed conservative super PAC is putting Republican members of Congress on notice: support the bipartisan DIGNIDAD Act, and you'll face a primary.

The Homeland Political Action Committee, registered with the FEC last week, has already raised what aides describe as a "seven-figure" opening warchest from a small group of donors aligned with the populist wing of the Republican base.

Their target list, obtained by Idiocracy News, runs to fourteen House Republicans currently signaling openness to the bill, sponsored by Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL). The DIGNIDAD Act would create a regularization pathway for long-resident undocumented immigrants in exchange for what supporters call "the strongest border security package in modern history."

Critics inside the conservative movement call it amnesty in a new wrapper. "We're not going to let another Gang of Eight cosplay sneak through the House," said Homeland PAC's spokesperson in a statement.

The President's posture

The White House has been deliberately ambiguous. Trump has praised Salazar's intent but has not endorsed the bill. Sources inside the administration say the President is unlikely to sign anything that includes a path to citizenship — even a slow one — without significantly tougher interior enforcement provisions than the current draft contains.
