From the Editors: Why We Built Idiocracy News Media

If you have arrived here from our Facebook page, welcome. If you arrived some other way, also welcome. We owe you a few words about what we are doing.

Idiocracy News Media is an independent news site with a clearly stated point of view. We are not a wire service. We are not a fact-check arbiter on retainer to a foundation that wants to set the terms of debate. We are a small team that believes most of the major American outlets stopped doing journalism somewhere on the way to becoming arms of a political coalition, and that ordinary readers deserve better.

What you will find here

Reporting and commentary on the stories we judge to matter — politics, the economy, the border, the courts, the culture — written from a perspective that is conservative and unembarrassed about it. Our editorial line is plain: limited government, free markets, secure borders, families, and the constitutional order.

You will also find videos and memes, because the news cycle is heavy and people deserve a laugh in between.

What you will not find

Sponsored content masquerading as news. Anonymous-source palace intrigue stories that vanish when checked. Op-eds dressed up as front-page reporting. We will tell you when we are reporting and when we are arguing.
