GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman arrested last year in a prostitution probe at a metro Grand Rapids massage parlor was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail for running a prostitution business.
In addition to jail, a Kent County judge put 45-year-old Edith Corbett on probation for three years. The sentence also includes 150 hours of community service at the YWCA’s women’s resource center.

Corbett earlier pleaded guilty to keeping a house of prostitution and accepting prostitution earnings. In exchange, two other charges were dropped.
She ran the Just Divine massage parlor in Plainfield Township. All-male clientele was assessed a door fee of either $50 or $80, with “tips encouraged for the service providers,” court records show. Investigators say illegal sex acts took place and Corbett “pandered workers into prostitution,” court records show.

The parlor came under scrutiny in the summer of 2023 based on multiple social media posts on a platform where the commercial sex trade industry was discussed, court records show.
Investigators say the business was one of the highest attended massage parlors in Kent County, with mostly male customers traveling from around Michigan seeking its services.
