Corpus Christi police say they have found body of man who disappeared while fishing

Corpus Christi police say they have found the body of a man who went missing from Mustang Island State Park.

Family members of Charles Huff, 66, last heard from him on June 22, according to a news release from the Corpus Christi Police Department.

He had been fishing in the area of the Fish Pass jetties near State Highway 361, according to officer Madeline Vaughn.

After U.S. Coast Guard crew members found a truck matching the description from the missing person report, the Corpus Christi Police Department deployed drone units and K-9 units. The drone units found Huff, she said.

The man was alone when law enforcement authorities found him, Vaughn said.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
