JetBlue aircraft rolls off runway while landing at Boston’s Logan Airport

A JetBlue aircraft rolled into grass off runway 33-L at Boston’s Logan Airport. The airport said in a statement that there were no injuries and that the runway was closed. Passengers are reportedly being bussed to a terminal at the airport while the aircraft is being assessed.

“Safety is JetBlue’s top priority. We will conduct a full investigation of the incident and will work closely with the relevant authorities to understand the cause,” the airline told Fox News Digital.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted a ground stop that was issued for all flights departing the airport.

JetBlue flight 312 took off from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 8:41 a.m. CT and was in the process of landing around 11:49 a.m. ET when it went off the runway and into a patch of grass.

“It appears it went in at a low speed, the grass doesn’t seem to be torn up, indicating that it was a very controlled speed that went in there, but clearly lost steering for some reason,” Former Massport CEO Tom Kinton told WCVB, a local affiliate of ABC.

At the time of this writing, the cause of the incident is still unknown.
