LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Surveillance video 8 News Now obtained shows two teenagers shooting into a crowd of people after being denied entry into a house party in Las Vegas.

The drive-by shooting killed 18-year-old Erick Roque and 20-year-old Efrian Guevara, Las Vegas Metro police said. Both were waiting in line to get inside a party in the 3000 block of Kaibab Avenue near East Owens Avenue and North Mojave Road.

Investigators arrested Noah Sierra and Jesus Martin-Guerrero for the shooting, according to police. Both were 16 years old at the time and are suspected gang members.

Both are charged as adults and face 42 counts each, including murder, according to police.

“It was a drive-by; they were planning to take as many lives as they could. And they took our sons’ lives,” Gabriela Nepomuceno, the mother of Guevara, told 8 News Now.

Roque’s mother, Olivia Fabian, has a hard time understanding how the teens were not arrested before the shooting.

“We think as a family that whatever happened to him should’ve never have happened. This kid should’ve been arrested a long time before this even happened,” Fabian said.

According to the LVMPD, a house party was promoted on social media for July 13, 2024.

Surveillance video captured Sierra and Martin-Guerrero walking to the party with a group of friends. At the gate, a bodyguard stops them, and witnesses told investigators the teens began arguing with the party host.

According to grand jury testimony, a witness testified that “One of [the teens] said as they were leaving, ‘Watch what’s going to happen.’”

Investigators believed the teens conspired to shoot the party host.

Surveillance cameras then captured the teens slowly driving up to the front of the house, where the party was taking place. Gunfire was seen coming from the passenger side window.

Martin-Guerrero fired 13 rounds into the crowd, killing two and injuring another person, according to investigators.

Detectives were able to pinpoint where the teens went next using a combination of cameras and cell phone data.

After the shooting, the teens were captured on surveillance video at a gas station in East Las Vegas. They then went to a hangout spot near the Clark County Wetlands, where they posted an Instagram video.

Sierra, who is accused of being the getaway driver, was sitting on top of a vehicle displaying gang signs.

Someone who was also denied entry told investigators, they all met up after the shooting, and the shooters said, “We’re burnt out, that’s a whole murder case.”

Officers arrested the teenagers on July 18, four days after the deadly drive-by.

Martin-Guerrero and Sierra are expected in Clark County District Court on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The families of both victims said they want the maximum sentence for the defendants and oppose any plea deal that strays away from that
