The FBI announced the reward in a post on X Thursday afternoon:
“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah,” it reads.
Those with information are directed to call 1-800-CALL-FBI and submit photos and videos at this website.
Kirk’s assassin remains on the loose a day after killing the Turning Point founder while he spoke at an event billed as part of his “Prove Me Wrong Roundtable” tour — the purpose of which was to encourage civil public discourse. The FBI has released photos of a person of interest:
The adult male was dressed in a black long-sleeve shirt with a graphic on the front, what appeared to be blue jeans, a dark-colored hat, and black sunglasses in the images released by the FBI.
An individual who was initially apprehended by authorities was ultimately released after an interrogation, FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Wednesday.
“The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency,” he wrote in a post on X.
Sources familiar with the situation say that the ammunition the assassin used bore messages regarding transgenderism and Antifa. The weapon used was a bolt-action rifle, and it was recovered from “a wooded area,” authorities said.
President Donald Trump announced Thursday morning at a September 11, 2001, observance event that he would be honoring Kirk posthumously with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the nation’s highest civilian honor.
“Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, Erika, and his beautiful children, fantastic people they are. We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on,” he added.
“I’m pleased to announce that I will soon be awarding Charlie Kirk posthumously the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The date of the ceremony will be announced, and I can only guarantee you one thing: that we will have a very big crowd, very, very big,” he added.
Trump called Kirk “a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people.”
