Leaders of the UniteUS college campus evangelistic movement said 5,500 people attended the recent event, with many of them trusting Christ for their salvation or rededicating their lives to God, CBN News reported Thursday.
Organizers said 2,000 young people were connected to local churches and ministries as they reorient their lives around God.
According to a UniteUS leader, Tonya Prew, “The fire marshal tried to stop the altar response but God had other plans. Last night was one of the most powerful nights of worship ever by @elevation.rhythm! What the enemy meant for harm, God turned into something we could have never planned,” she wrote in an Instagram post:
The CBN article said hundreds of people were also baptized outside the Cincinnati Reds Stadium.
Another clip showed the crowd being led in a prayer. “Dear God in Heaven, thank you so much for Jesus. I know that I have sinned against you,” a man said as attendees repeated after him:
In another social media post, Prew shared a video of the crowd singing and dancing. She wrote, “What we witnessed at the University of Cincinnati tonight was just a glimpse of what heaven will be like! Praise the Lord for the gift of freedom found in JESUS.”
The news comes after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was an outspoken Christian, was assassinated on September 10 during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. His murder appears to have sparked a spiritual movement across the nation.
“Church attendance and Bible sales have surged in recent weeks, with faith leaders around the country dubbing it the ‘Charlie Kirk Effect,’ Turning Point USA announced on Friday,” Breitbart News reported October 3.
