Barron Trump’s Unexpected Personal News Leak Speaks Volumes About His Future With His President Dad

Sep 18, 2025 | Media, Politics, U.S.

Being the son of the President of the United States comes with a certain degree of notoriety. And though Trump’s youngest, Barron Trump, hasn’t really been in the spotlight as much as his older siblings, he’s still a very recognizable face. That, of course, affects every aspect of his life, including his college. And now, Barron Trump is making a change that can be directly tied to his mother and father.

The President’s youngest son, who attended his first year of college at New York University’s Greenwich Village campus, all while commuting from Trump Tower in Manhattan, is no longer going to be at NYU’s main campus, where the Stern School of Business is based. Instead, as reported by People, he’s “doing a semester” in another city. And it’s not hard to guess which one.

Indeed, the outlet reports that Barron Trump is now attending classes at NYU’s Washington, D.C., campus, only a few blocks away from the White House. The D.C. campus only hosts about 100 students, with NYU’s website stating that undergrad students based in D.C. “engage deeply with politics, policy, business, journalism, and leadership through coursework and experiential learning in the nation’s capital.”

There was no confirmation as to why Barron transferred or where he has been living since he switched campuses. There has also not been a confirmation about whether he plans to return to N.Y.C. after the fall semester or stay in D.C. longer.

Just last month, the outlet reported that first lady Melania is very on top of what happens with her son. “Melania watches Barron constantly in an effort to be sure nobody messes with him or bullies him, as this is a constant worry with her,” the source explained. “She always knows where he is and what he’s doing.” Presumably, this will be much easier with him closer.

There haven’t been too many details about Barron’s first year of college, but according to People, is focused on business. “Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area,” a source said about the President’s youngest son.

Shortly after President Trump took office for a second time, Newsweek reported that he was looking to start his own real estate company. A source told People at the time that he “wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps,” though there didn’t seem to be a concrete plan at the time. “He is interested in business in general, developing properties, making money and being involved in successful projects,” the source said. “He has his own ideas and understands what people of his age are looking for. He is quite entrepreneurial, bright and not shy about getting his own career in gear.”

Whether those interests are taking him back to D.C. to be closer to his mother and father, or whether he just missed them, we might never know. But Barron Trump is now indeed attending college very close to the White House, for whatever that’s worth.
