The archdiocese said he has been temporarily suspended. Father Storey is not allowed to function publicly as a priest during this time, which includes celebrating Mass and performing pastoral duties.

“The Prairie Village Police Department has informed the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas of a criminal investigation involving Father Storey concerning another adult,” the archdiocese said.

“The Archdiocese is fully cooperating with authorities so they can investigate the serious allegations being made against Father Storey.”

FOX4 reached out to the police department, and Capt. Taylor was able to confirm that a criminal investigation is ongoing amid allegations against the priest concerning an adult.

“The Prairie Village Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation into an allegation reported to have occurred in Prairie Village,” the police department said in its official statement.

“The investigation involves an adult victim and a pastor of Cure of Ars Parish in Leawood.”

Police said this is an ongoing investigation.

Archbishop McKnight has also initiated a preliminary canonical investigation, according to the archdiocese.

Father John Riley, vicar general of the archdiocese, has been appointed as temporary administrator of the parish, the archdiocese said.

“We are devastated by this situation,” the archdiocese said on its website.
