Years after he dropped her name during a Republican primary debate, President Donald Trump is again considering revoking Rosie O’Donnell’s American citizenship.
“As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Wednesday, Sept. 3. “She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!”
The post went up with a doctored photo of O’Donnell’s face.
“Banishing me again?” O’Donnell replied back in an Instagram post on Wednesday. Referencing Brian Cox’s character from the HBO series “Succession,” O’Donnell added, “Logan Roy would be proud.”
Trump’s post is the second time this summer that he’s suggested he could revoke O’Donnell’s citizenship and previously raised the issue on Truth Social on July 12.
“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,“ Trump wrote. ”She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
In March, O’Donnell confirmed that she moved to Ireland in a TikTok video. O’Donnell left the United States because she felt “sad and scary… with the election of the current president, so I knew I had to take care of my kid — my non-binary, autistic kid.”
“And the way that people marginalize and attack the trans community, especially politically, is unfathomable to me, and so unbearably cruel‚” O’Donnell added.
Despite the move, O’Donnell said she and her child, Clay, are happy.
“I miss my other kids. I miss my friends,” she continued. “I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country. When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”
The feud between O’Donnell and Trump dates back several years, back to when she was a host on “The View” on ABC.
O’Donnell mocked Trump about his chances of running for president.
Trump infamously retaliated when, during a debate in 2015, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly told him, “You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.”
“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump said.
