California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s trolling press office account sent out a Labor Day message on Monday giving White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt a makeover.
And he also offered her up a new nickname in the spirit of a message from her boss, President Donald Trump.

“KAROLYIN’ LEAVITT says Happy Labor Day!” the governor’s office wrote with an image of Leavitt as Effie Trinket from “The Hunger Games” movies:
Newsom also sent a holiday message supposedly from White House adviser Stephen Miller, who he depicted as Voldemort from the “Harry Potter” franchise, just as he did last month in a mocking birthday message:
Newsom has been using his press office account to mock Trump and his bombastic social media style, complete with altered images and all-caps rants ― sometimes almost word-for-word identical to Trump’s posts.
He has said that his trolling has a real purpose.

“We’re putting a mirror up to the lunacy that is Trump’s tweets, and his grift, the madness that is someone that would dress up as the pope and tweet that out or put his face up there on Mount Rushmore, or in a Superman costume,” he said at a news conference last week, referring to things Trump has actually done. “So I do think it’s important to put that mirror, that lens, back and have everyone reflect on it and say, ‘Have we accepted this as normal?’ Why aren’t we calling this out more clearly?”
