LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Saturday morning in Summerlin.
The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. near westbound Summerlin Parkway at Anasazi Drive. According to the Nevada State Police, a single utility vehicle hit an abandoned vehicle that was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway
The crash caused the utility vehicle to roll over and leave one man dead at the scene, police said. Three other adults who were inside the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the driver is suspected of being impaired at the time of the crash.
Summerlin Parkway is closed in both directions at Anasazi Drive. Traffic is being diverted using the Anasazi on and off ramps to allow vehicles to continue traveling both eastbound and westbound. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as delays are expected.
