Firefighters battled a blaze at the site of a landmark restaurant in Los Angeles Thursday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, crews were attempting to save the Pacific Dining Car steakhouse located at 1310 W 6th Street in the Westlake neighborhood of L.A. The blaze was first reported at about 6:40 a.m.
Crews confirmed that the bulk of the fire was in the attic and roof. The fire was knocked down by 7:38 a.m., according to the LAFD.
It wasn’t yet clear how the fire started or the extent of the damage. No injuries were reported.
The Pacific Dining Car has been closed since August of last year after a separate fire caused damage to the property. A second location in Santa Monica was a “victim of the coronavirus” and closed in 2020, according to its owner.
The Westlake location received landmark status in the 1990s and has served as a filming location for films and television shows like “Training Day” and “Shameless.” Opened in 1921, the family-run Pacific Dining Car claims to be one of the oldest standing restaurants in L.A.
